It’s no secret that Queen’s students spend much of their time stressed out. Academics, projects, extra-curricular activities and work is a lot to balance. Additionally, it can be hard to find the time and the space on campus to de-compress and relax between classes. To create opportunities for students to un-plug, relax and re-focus without leaving campus, Student Wellness Services is now offering two new programs, Mood Walks and 40 Minute Focus. Both of these programs are free and require no registration—just show up when you can!
Leave your screens behind and st/roll with us! Research increasingly shows that moving in the outdoors reduces stress, improves concentration, bolsters creative problem-solving, and builds community. Join us on our weekly st/rolls on nearby greenspace walks to reap the benefits of spending time in nature. Mood Walks run rain or shine.
40 Minute Focus
Interested in learning to use meditation, imagery and visualization to improve focus, concentration and stress? Join us for our 40 Minute Focus weekly offering. Each week, you will be guided through three different types of meditations, allowing you to explore what helps you re-focus and tune into yourself. The class is held in a calm, quiet environment that supports students looking to tune out the pressures and noise of campus. No experience necessary!
